New!! Check out Westmoreland half hull models by clicking the "Store" button on the right side of the menu bar above. These are hand made and I'm not making very many. They are hand crafted in Lake Ann, Michigan. The hull and arch are hand carved from a single piece of wood. No two are alike. Are you an armchair detective? An amateur sleuth? Do you love trying to solve Sherlock Holmes type mysteries? Then this site is for you. You may be surprised to learn that Michigan, and the lakes that surround her are full of baffling, yet solvable mysteries. The Michigan region hides missing people, aircraft, and even whole ships.
My passion is Great Lakes shipwrecks, and that is reflected in this website. In the summer of 2010 I solved one of Michigan’s oldest mysteries, “where does the wreck of the treasure ship Westmoreland lie?”, by using clues collected from local history books and old newspaper articles, and a little bit of hard work, I was able to go out and solve the mystery of the Westmoreland. I gotta believe there are other people out there who love a good mystery and are up to the task of solving some of them. Please email me if you have any questions or comments.
Enjoy!
Ross Richardson
